Oriental Strawberry Metabolites: LC–MS Profiling, Antioxidant Potential, and Postharvest Changes of Fragaria orientalis Fruits

چکیده

Fragaria orientalis is the most distributed wild strawberry in North Asia, and it consumed large quantities by local population. However, poor knowledge of chemical composition, metabolic profiles, bioactivity leads to insufficient use F. beyond region. The aim our study was investigate nutritional value, sensory parameters cultivated fruits, before during postharvest storage. Sixty-five compounds were identified liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Wild fruits have same LC–MS but quantitative levels varied, favor samples. extracts fruit demonstrated high radical-scavenging potential, ascorbic acid various phenolics as principal antioxidants. Significant variation acid, phenolic content, total antioxidant potential found storage fresh at cold room temperatures defrosted fruits; dried temperature showed lowest loss bioactive compounds. new information on changes phytochemicals bioactivities provide a better understanding processes occurring fresh, frozen,

Antiglycation, Antioxidant and Antidiabetic Activity of Mature Strawberry (fragaria × Ananassa) Fruits

A comprehensive in vitro study involving antiglycation, antioxidant and anti-diabetic assays was carried out in mature fruits of strawberry. The effect of aqueous extract of mature strawberry fruits on glycation of guanosine with glucose and fructose with or without oxidizing entities like reactive oxygen species was analyzed. Spectral studies showed that glycation and/or fructation of guanosin...

The Content of Secondary Metabolites and Antioxidant Activity of Wild Strawberry Fruit (Fragaria vesca L.)

Chemical analyses carried out in 2011-2013 aimed at evaluating the contents of flavonoids, free phenolic acids, tannins, anthocyanins, and antioxidant activity (%) by means of DPPH radical neutralization ability in fresh and air-dried fruits of three wild strawberry cultivars. Examinations revealed differences in contents of biologically active substances determined in raw versus dried material...

Postharvest Physiology of Strawberry Fruits Treated With Sodium Dehydroacetate

Sodium dehydroacetate (NaDHA) was most effective in extending the shelf life of fruits of strawberry cultivars that have the poorest holding capacity. Decreased respiration of treated fruits is attributed to the fungicidal property of NaDHA or inhibitory effect of the chemical on a respiratory enzyme of the fruit. A 0.5% NaDHA solution retarded ripening. Various types of fungicides have been ev...

Proteomic Response and Quality Maintenance in Postharvest Fruit of Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) to Exogenous Cytokinin

The limitations in current understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit response to the application of plant growth regulators have increasingly become major challenges in improvement of crop quality. This study aimed to evaluate the response of strawberry to the preharvest application of exogenous cytokinin known as forchlorfenuron (CPPU). Postharvest internal and physiological q...
